Ollie soon finds an ally in Lara when he figures out she is bi and uses keeps up her hard exterior to ward off everyone. Ollie can only talk to Will during these classes or if they text as Will is afraid of his friends on the basketball team finding out he is gay. Ollie is surprised when Will changes classes to be in his music appreciation class as a way to get close to him again. He helps Juliette for her audition to a prestigious music school and practices bass whenever he can. Ollie decided to join a band at school, using music as his escape. What follows is Will ignoring Ollie at school, even though the basketball team, which Will is on, occasionally sit with the girls at lunch as team captain Matt has a crush on Lara.
